If you are wondering where next to explore this year, then why not think about travelling around New York state? It might be that you have seen enough of the big apple, and you want to go and see some of the outskirts and other towns and cities which make up this incredibly diverse and amazing state in the US. If you have never really looked around this part of the world before, you might be amazed at just how much there is to do and see. And as long as you have a good plan of attack, you should be able to see plenty in one short trip. If you are keen to stay even longer, then you might be amazed at the amount of things you can get up to. Let’s take a deeper look into some of the places to explore in New York state.

 

Albany

One of the better-known places in NY is the capital city, Albany. This is one of the most diverse and fascinating areas anywhere in America, and it definitely deserves a lot of time dedicated to it if you are keen to travel around NY and see as many of the sights as possible. In fact, many of those sights will be exactly here in Albany. Originally a small Dutch settlement, this has so much to offer that you could easily get lost exploring its many hidden crevices and historical wonders. Consider staying at the Albany Marriott for a slice of the extravagant, and spend as much time as you like in its burgeoning shopping district, home to many of the shops you love and much more besides. Part of Albany’s beauty is that it is also home to some fantastic countryside on its outskirts, so there really is a little something for everyone here.

 

Niagara Falls

You really can’t say that you’ve experienced NY state without at least taking a look at Niagara Falls. This is truly one of the wonders of the world, and something you absolutely can’t miss while you are in the area. This straddles the border between the US and Canada, and it is such a beautiful sight that you won’t want to ever leave. It is one of those real bucket list things which you can be proud of having done. While in the area, don’t overlook the chance to see one of the most beautiful sights anywhere in the world.

Lake Placid

If you want to see a little of nature while you are trekking around NY, then you simply have to take a stop at Lake Placid. This is arguably one of the most unique and singly most beautiful natural areas anywhere in the US, and you would really regret it if you failed to go and see it while you are in that part of the country. You have probably seen photographs of the lake before, but there is a whole other world when you actually go and see it for yourself with your own eyes. Remember this when you are trying to fill your inventory for your trip around NY state.
